Barlands Quarry cave
|Regions \ Wales \ Gower \ Barlands Quarry Cave|
A rift at the edge of the quarry.
A rubbish slope (rope is suggested) goes to a 2m pitch (ladder recommended), at the top of a small chamber a passage to the right leads to a another small chamber with some muddy formations. To the right is a crawl to another chamber, to the left is a mud choked rift. The main chamber goes throught a low section to a high rift. Which comes to a boulder choke after about 40m. This appears to be recent probably as a result of blasting in the quarry above. Old surveys show the cave continuing to a sump pool and some further passage which seems to be inaccessible.
