Save a Historic Mining Landmark in Weardale

A group is trying to save the decaying head gear of the last working mine in Weardale. They need to raise ?18,000 sharpish for the land agents and powers that be to allow them to do it. Can you donate? See:

I'm surprised it doesn't have any kind of protected status. Would be a great loss if it were demolished.

Many happy memories up there, including I think one of the first "dates" I took my wife on when we first started going out. New years day trip to the Miners in Nent, via Groverake, Allenheads and Coalcleugh.
