    Marble Pot on the Allotment

I was down Marble Pot a couple of years back after a quick attempt on Marble sink. It was indeed still blocked then below the first pitch, but there's a bit to explore down there. It looks like you could dig it quite easily, with some shoring, if the on-going passage is where I presumed it to be.

    High gill caves, Dent

Yes the shake hole is deep in plastic bags with bit's of straw in it. It was known about as mentioned in NC, but the stuff on the top looks recent, so it appears it's still going on :(

    High gill caves, Dent

I went down well attempted to go down these little Dent gems yesterday, and here's me report. High gill upper cave - Status BLOCKED Unless I was looking in the wrong place and believe me I was looking for a while, it looks like the shale bank above the entrance has collapsed and completely...

    Swilly Hole / Haltcliff bridge

Front view of the entrance, that corner was full of flood debris and did not look like an entrance just a pile of sticks, this image is after I dug it out. A side on view for better perspective, this end is about 30m from the public foot path sign by the gate. Descend the slope on the right of...

    Swilly Hole / Haltcliff bridge

Sorry for the Necro post but just been to the cave. 1 it's not blocked well it was by bits of wood but after about an hour of trying to find the right bit to dig in, I managed to strike gold an opened it up in 5 minutes. 2. Land owner was dead-nice, I assume he was the landowner as he lived in...

    Small mammal to greasy slab

Reading the title I thought that's a long way and would involve some driving but I had not realised there was a greasy slab in Bar pot too (well was called that). Here's the description to the best of my memory. At the bottom of the SM entrance pitch, facing away from the rope take the obvious...

Too Much " Foreign Stuff " In Caving Mags. and Journals ?

Is there that much happening in the UK now though? As time goes on there's less and less to find and what you do find is harder and harder to actually achieve. So it may take several year's to get through, so nothing to report over that time. What I am saying is there's just simply less news...

    Weathercote Cave access

Just be careful the landowner don't come down the cave with you, with scrappy clothes and rips his back on the roof of the cave hehe (but loved it anyway lol). Landowner here is very nice and has his own copies of Northern caves!
