    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

    Daytime caving, Friday 18/5/18, Yorkshire

I'm finding myself in the Dales on Friday with nothing to do. Anyone free and want to go caving? Up for anything really, I've just got to be out by about 5/6 ish. Can look after myself on the flat and on rope, I've got my SRT kit, but no rope. Cheers, Chris

Browns folly mines - polar bears.

Haya Just wondering, is (are?) Browns folly mines accessible to animatronic polar bears, or are the any crawls or squeezes they'd find hard to negotiate? I think that even a small duck could play havoc with the wiring, are (is) the mine(s?) completely dry?  Thanks in anticipation.

    Phoenix?

Anyone know what's happened to them? They don't seem to be answering their phone or email and their website's gone form being a full shop to being a single page with just with the address and phone number. Hope that they're still around. cheers.

Go buy the Indy today (thursday)

You should all go and buy the Indy today before it sells out quick due to the excellent article about student caving (in the Education in Wales supplement), if you haven't already. Apologies for the late notice but it's still in shops for a few more hours.

    One for cave rescue

Apparently paracetamol can prevent renal failure after crush injuries. See new scientist http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20527464.300-headache-pill-could-save-earthquake-crush-victims.html I'm not sure how advanced they are with human testing/trials though, the tests were in rats.
