    Caving and Chronic pain

Belated post but might be of interest. Turns out after nerve conduction studies I had something called brachial neuritis. In severe cases one can lose the use of an arm and hand so I got off lightly as it got back to virtual normal albeit with some very slight residual arm weakness.

    Tick prevalence in the UK

Interesting piece in the latest New Scientist about ticks. Plans are afoot to develop multivalent vaccines for tick borne diseases or even believe it or not an anti tick vaccine. That'll tick the anti vaxxers off!

    Red Arrows

Remember once sea diving off Golden Cap in Dorset with Malcolm Stewart. It was lifeboat week at Lyme Regis. I surfaced first to find the Red Arrows display overhead. Malcolm and Debbie then surfaced and I shouted that I had seen the Red Arrows. "What did he say?" says Debbie. 'Whoosh!' (Red...

    Swildon's Sump 9 via freediving

Depends what your psychology is. I have free dived sumps I have done on a bottle: if there is no constriction I was happy provided there weren't long. I free dived Sump 2 in Swildons about 50 years ago with my father as an expedition to Morocco required a rarely dived static sump to be passed...

Cave in Plymouth unknown to me

Whether it is actually a cave I don't know (might be evidence of mining) but it certainly intrigued me. I found this video quite by chance (it popped up when I was looking to repair a scratch on my dome port lens) and the location is not described. Anybody know anymore

Olympus TG-6 camera wanted for underwater photography beyond sumps

I bought a housing for my TG6 made by Sea frogs. I used it with an old tray and torches and it was fine. Lot less bulky than my other set up. You can get a wide angle attachment for about the same price of the housing and this comes in under £300 which is very reasonable indeed.

Glad I kept the faith on the tube! It was originally written off as an mud filled alcove.

    'pretty' caves in the dales?

I am loth to suggest locations in case they get damaged as seems to have happened to some of those listed above.
