    BCA pros and cons

No, I don't go rock climbing

    BCA pros and cons

We all try to be as safe as possible, but accidents can happen, which is why we have to have car insurance, professional indemnity insurance etc. I certainly wouldn't want to be sued, but say I was and the injured party were awarded a million. Without insurance, I would go bankrupt and they...

    BCA pros and cons

People who don't want insurance - imagine something like this happened and it was a close friend who was injured badly enough that they could no longer work. Would you not be left feeling guilty that you could have been in a position for them to make an insurance claim, but you chose not to be?

    Caving artwork

Thanks! Unfortunately the email address isn't valid but is possibly the right artist.

    Caving artwork

I think you're right! Drawn from outside the waterfall chamber, looking in through the archway.

    Small mammal to greasy slab

Have any of you Bar/Stile/Small Mammal fans been into Violet Ground Beetle Passage? It's on my to do list for this year but I'm more restricted mobility wise now than in previous years, so some idea of what to expect would be good.

    Caving artwork

I bought a nice piece of caving art from a charity shop and wondered if anyone recognised it. The signature is 'Chrissy' and it doesn't say who the caver is or what cave they are in.

    Small mammal to greasy slab

If you're at the winch meet, call by my tent to borrow my slug tongs. I really do have a set of tongs specifically for slug removal because I can't stand them either!

    Small mammal to greasy slab

I really must give Stile another go. Last time I had a look down there, the entrance was full of big black slugs so that was an instant retreat from me!

What size bag do I need to take kit on a plane

I've got away with batteries in checked luggage by packing them inside a camping kettle.

    Small mammal to greasy slab

I'm wondering why not go straight down small mammal instead of going down bar?

Too Much " Foreign Stuff " In Caving Mags. and Journals ?

I'm in agreement that reading about UK caving is far more interesting to me than reading about caving abroad. I like to read news about places I might be able to visit in the near future and I'm never going to be physically able to bottom some mega cave on the other side of the world. An article...

    Vegan food

I can recommend Beck Hall in Malham for an excellent vegan afternoon tea. Booking ahead via the website is essential, as is arriving in Malham very early to get parking.

For the gluten free people on this thread, the Station Inn at Ribblehead has a nice gf beer on tap (1865).
