Kiln Piece Hole - A new entrance to the Slaughter Stream Cave system?

Incredible report - and great news. Will you manage to get Ian back in PP after he swore "never again" if he takes the short[er] cut from KPH? Would absolutely love to see the follow up to part 1!

Win £500 for your caving club

I thought about putting this in the BCA forum, but I'm not remotely a BCA rep, and I didn't want to convey any sense I am. Everyone's BCA insurance is arranged through a broker called Howdens who also arranges insurance for various other sports clubs. Roughly quarterly, Howdens runs a...

    Making my own undersuit

My aunt has made a few oversuits - one for herself: (these are the best photos I have of her "modelling" it) And she's also helped construct oversuits for my son My son seen here age about 15 months For reference, I don't actually think cordura is the right thing as an outer layer for tinys...

    Redhouse Lane Swallet Update

    > Operation is tomorrow Thinking of you. Hope it went as well as it can. > No caving, no swimming, no running, no cycling, no nothing So sorry to hear of your illnesses apparent lack of foresight to know when to crop up. Will you be able to be on Hot Chocolate duty, or are you strictly on...

BCA membership and those aged under 18

Caving with under 2s is a terrible idea. Just think how bad it'd be if they enjoyed it. 😅 I've had to suffer watching back the videos of us in Kingsdale Master Cave about 100 times with the plea "more cahyve" and then "more cahyve, pleeez" (Yes he is a BCA member for all those entertaining...

    OFD fixed aids updates

I only just read this thread, so didn't have an opportunity to join the voices beforehand, but I just wanted to express my personal gratitude to you, and any other installers and volunteers involved, for sorting this one out. I'm hugely in favour, and I wish it'd been in place about 8 years ago...

    Caving and Old Age.

I'd love to know what the oldest age someone has started regularly caving is. I sort of have previous here in a different area. I knew a guy who started WW Kayaking when he retired, and he's paddling in his 80s, and is far from the weakest link in that crew. My mum started caving about 5 years...

I understand in this context it is an affectionate term "glory grabbing willy wavers"

    Redhouse Lane Swallet Update

Just wanted to share how captivating this dig is to the younger caving generation. If you have any leads that needs someone very small 😉 the mini digger keeps shouting "More"😅 Much respect and gratitude to the whole team for taking us with you on your exploration 🤗🙏🙏

    The Trogs of Cumberland Cavern

@mikem this is all incredibly helpful. If ever our paths cross in real life somehow, please remind me of this comment as I owe you a pint. I shall go through all your references, links and contacts. Sharing the NYT piece here you linked above, because it itself is sort of incredible.
