    Finding caving friends

It depends, she has been in Dinas mines but James wants to do a longer trip and I don't think it would be dog friendly. She's only a little Frenchie 😊

    Finding caving friends

Hello all. My partner and I will be up in South Wales from 1 to 7 March. One of us (me) will be looking after the dog so I'm trying to find someone James can go caving with. Is anyone around up for a trip or two?

    Safe caves for beginners?

Are you a member of a club? I would suggest finding one close to you and having a chat with them. They will have lots of recommendations for new and young cavers. Some caves require keys for access so that's probably your best bet

    Menstruating + Caving

Done and thank you for giving this some thought. It's a massive pain being on my period while caving. I don't have any useful answers but glad to know someone is thinking about it!

Petzl stop Vs other descending devices

I do already use a handy which might be contributing to the issues with my old stop. A friend has kindly said he will let me try his new stop. My partner also has a rig and I think an ID too so I can try all 3 and see how I get on! ☺️

Petzl stop Vs other descending devices

What are people's opinions on the new petzl stop vs the old version, also vs other descending devices such as the rig, auxiliary device and ID? I have the old version of the stop but I don't have the hand strength to push the brake when descending without getting cramp so need something easier...

    Huge 'sinkhole' emerges in Bexleyheath

I can't remember exactly where it was, it was quite a while ago. It's a tall metal fence near a footpath. You could jump it if you don't mind dodging all the poo bags!

    Huge 'sinkhole' emerges in Bexleyheath

There's already a lot of dene holes around this area. We found a large one in joydens wood. It was fenced off with a tall metal fence and we would have been interested to take a deeper look but it was full of dog poo bags 🤮

    Caving clubs in Enniskillen?

It is half way downonastir cliff but not a small opening. If you go up a bit further there is a long tall tube going down a slope to the 6m pitch.

    Caving clubs in Enniskillen?

We split in to 2 groups and most did 2 caves a day, so quite a few! I went to pollnagollum of the boats, marble arch, pollnagossan, bruce's pot and pollprughkisk.

    Caving clubs in Enniskillen?

Thanks Ian for recommending Cladagh Glen. It's a fantastic venue in a beautiful location for caving, walks and BBQs. We had an amazing week in Enniskillen. I definitely want to go back there!
