    On't scrounge for a skateboard

Lurking in my garden there is, what I believe is referred to as, a penny board. Smaller in all dimensions than a skateboard, plastic board. If you think it might be helpful let me know, there is a reasonable (not definite) chance I'll be in the Dales on Sunday morning.

How big is the average UK caving club?

what is wrong with bogfarts roaring

Don't know what people find wrong with it, quite enjoyed the trip I had in there years back.

    Ged Dodd

Spectacle Pot was on his website - there were two variations of the site (the earlier version having more caving content), off the top of my head I can't recall if it appeared on one or both. Both sites have now disappeared but some content remains on the internet archive (way back machine).

    Ged Dodd

In October 2022 Ged Dodd passed away peacefully at home, aged 83. Those of you who have been to East Kingsdale may well be familiar with the pitch named after him in Spectacle Pot. A founder member of the Black Rose Pothole Club (having briefly been a member of the Happy Wanderers), he was...

how did you get into caving

Not sure if it's relevant but got taken to the Caves of Drach on holiday when fairly young. Don't remember it, maybe it was a subconscious starting point? Anyway, what I see as the seed sown, much later, on a DofE walk from Newby to Stainforth via Giggleswick Scar, as curious teens that we were...

    Cave snacks

Not done much caving of late but when properly active that was always my go to snack. I also carried them in a little screw topped container! Nalgene if memory serves me right, with a loop of cord round the neck, so it could dangle from a krab for suitable trips. Also carried a chocolate bar...

Friday joke - WARNING - contains swearing.

Two men walk into a bar, first one says can I have some h2o, then the second one says can I have some h2o too. Unfortunately he's no longer with us.

    Good weather caves?

Whilst it has generally been good, there have been some very significant, sometimes very localised torrential downpours. Something to be very mindful of if there's instability in the atmosphere. I'd echo Mossdale, Sleets Gill etc. Maybe Diccan might be less cold, wet and draughty? The further...

    Wezzit?

Never been but using the clue "time of year" I'm going to take a very dubious stab at Bank Holiday Hole?

    Easegill foodies

True. Although a few of the other suggestions might not be either. Depends how convoluted hungrytrog really wants it? Maybe he could just use the butter to fry the nearby mushroom?

If you're feeling French there's Snail Cavern. And for the all important liquid refreshment, Brew Chamber.

    Easegill foodies

I've been eating those crisps this week! Mushroom Passage, Toadstool Junction. Butterfield Pasage. Quality Street. The Subway - that might require advance planning to acquire before the trip.
