Definitions of mindless optimism?

Came across this spec on a watch maker's website. I think this could be one of the best optimistic marketing hopes ever! I think there may be some credence to the spec: back in the day NASA secretly kicked the bejesus out of various watches to see which ones could stand the rigours of space travel. The only one that make the grade was the Omega Speedmaster, aka Moonwatch, and the rest is history.
Has to be a unique cliental that needs a watch that "can display true solar time at any location on Earth and Mars", and "allows the watch’s innovative solar compass to find true north on Earth and Mars with exceptional precision." All for only £6400 of your Earth pounds.

Presumably there'll be some caves on Mars to have a wander through?
Any other rather optimistic claims out there?

It’s rated to 3bar, so barely good enough for a shower. Eek.

What was far more interesting was the absolutely fascinating lecture by ESA on how they use cave exploration to train astronauts for Mars and beyond. It is a racing certainty this is not the watch they were wearing.

My opinion is unchanged in that if you want a fully waterproof, shockproof, caving, mining, fell walking in a storm type watch you cant beat the G-Shock. As far as thread title goes, "Mindless Optimism", I would say "I can just about afford to run a Bentley".

Casio F-91w works very well and I prefer it because it has a really low profile. The straps have broken on me after a year of very hard wear. But the actual time pieces have always survived

I have a Baby G watch (in pink, of course) which is the 'girls' version of the G Shock (but also usefully lower profile).
