do people still have stomps

Every year the Eldon have a belter of a stomp after their AGM and a damn good piss up at christmas. The stomp is usually well advertised and anyone is welcome. However I've never noticed any other derbyshire stomps being organised. Do the TSG, Orpheus, Mason etc etc not have stomps.

What about the rest of the UK - there must be some good bashes up in the Dales.

And why are they called "Stomps"?

And is a crap rock band obligatory

Well, there was one at Hidden Earth... or was there?

Hopefully the weird sing-song is not obligatory... :clapclap: :3some:

I haven't heard of any other stomps in the Peak District for a while. The only other 'non Eldon' one I've been to recently was the Cavers Fair stomp which was held at the Cement Works Social Club near Pindale a few years back.

Oh yeah, and there was that mad one at Hidden Earth 2001, Buxton, where they were holding dustbin races at the end.

Then there was a good NCC one at the Dalesbridge centre a couple of years back (the one to raise funds for the Braida hut).

And yes, Underground, the one at Hidden Earth last year was a little bit weird wasn't it? - or was that the 'shrooms? :D

Nope - only the Eldon have stomps as far as I know...
We have the odd barrel of beer or two on social occasions at the Orpheus cottage - but that's pretty sedate when compared to a real stomp like the Eldon's!

The Eldon have always took the lead regarding stomps. Great fun but dangerous - Ileft my liver in a field somewhere near Monyash after the last one. Best to take some spare body parts. :?

I cannot claim to have seem barkers liver but almost stood in most of his stomach contents the morning after the night before at an Eldon stomp..

Luverrly :boz:
