I stand corrected! If that's the case "Cunning stunt" would describe him.

I now feel guilty that I increased his video hit count by watching it, although surely he can't really make that much money from YouTube? I thought only the top very few actually made any real money
Socialblade estimaates his earnings at a max of £33.2k a year on his main channel and £2.9k a year on his other channel. In my experience Socialblade tends to be pretty accurate if a little conservative. Their estimate for my channel is within £100 or so of what I made last year. This seems a little low for the subscriber and view numbers, I'd guess CPM is not that high as he'd have to make a number of declarations on the ad-suitability declaration when he publishes and I'm guessing a fair proportion of the high paying advertisers wouldn't want the association.

I know folk in other niches making more money with much lower numbers.

Of course that's just direct ad revenue. I see he has some sort of subscription website and sells 'merch' which may exceed what he earns in ad revenue if done well.

TBH I'd never heard of him before.
