Old Gang Mines, Hard Level

Our club took a trip into hard level today we were planning on doing the through trip however when we got to the end of the shale passage the only way on seemed to be a very wet, cold, 5ft deep water filled tunnel, helmet off job, for as far as we could see.

Just wondered if any one has made the through trip and could give details to what is beond i know we were so close ?

After we came out we took a walk up the fell and found the exit but to us it looked like no one had come out that way in years !

hi ad as i believ you follow the entrance tunnel till you arrive at the junction we got to when we went, then you take a left and go threw a few crawls over collapses, take a right and continue to the end of the passage where you the climb up and go right to where martin had a swim and i believe the way on is along that way then up an incline to the surface.

Is that the through trip that goes via Black Crosscut, Brandy Bottle, Bell's Shaft and up the Inclined Plane...??

I recall reading about it somewhere - in a club journal probably - can't remember which club/journal though - not very helpful eh! Maybe someone else has a better memory than I..
