TG6 Lens Cover

The glass lens protector on my TG6 is starting to get quite scratched. Its not having a big effect on image quality yet, but I regularly use in in abrasive conditions so I'm expecting it to progressively get worse.

Is it possible to replace this glass?

Thanks

Julie

I think the glass on the camera may be an Olympus (OM System now) repair. However, there are a couple of options to protect the glass made by both Olympus and also copies by 3rd parties such as JJC. There is a plastic trim ring around the lens that comes off with a twist (press the button by the T in Tough) and various things can be installed. Doesn't affect waterproofness.
For example, this is what I use, but with a Hoya Fusion 40.5mm filter. Could always omit the filter and just use a lens cap.
There's also a rotating lens cap available, but I haven't tried this:

You can replace it yourself if you can get the front glass and are happy voiding your warranty. I believe the TG-4, -5, and -6 all use the same front glass piece.

As ZombieCake has mentioned, prevention is easier than cure!

I have one, the JJC model as linked. It works well, even with limited mud on it. Initially it tended to jam but some silicone spray fixed it.
