Just creating a separate topic out of curiousity, taken from the "% cave explored" thread - a few caves/pots listed on http://www.ukcaves.co.uk/all-deepest might be slightly out, as pointed out in the previous thread..

Does anyone have more accurate information on the depths? From a quick look at the figures, I would question the depths of Gingling Hole and Dow-Prov for a start..

In the "deep" list, there's really only one on Mendip that we are unhappy about & that's being worked on.

Can't speak for other areas, but the lack of a Northern Dales cave registry means that no-one seems to keep an eye on that area.

Pretty sure OFD is not as deep as claimed (pers. com. Brian Clipstone)

As far as the "Northern Dales" is concerned I bet a certain Moldywarp has his own very good registry!

I helped the owner of this website to compile the cave depth information, using whatever sources I could find at the time.

This was about 10 years ago and I don't know if this information has been kept up-to-date since then (sounds like not!).

I would suggest contacting the website owner with any corrections to the data.
