Just wondering if there is a website - book - pdf archive containing surveys of the caves of North Wales (Cilcain Caves, OHA, Minera / Worlds end etc etc).  perhaps like the Northern Caves books etc.

Thanks

There is a book...
Karst and Caves of Great Britain
(1997)
GCR Volume No. 12
Waltham, A.C., Simms, M.J., Farrant, A.R. & Goldie, H.S.

This contains some surveys of caves from all over britain including North Wales.
The book has been out of print for a while now and if you can find a copy it will cost a lot of money! (around $600.00 on Amazon  :o )

however...
There is an online image bank of low and hi res jpg's and a tiff file of each of the images of all the GCR publications and book 12 (the one mentioned above) is at http://www.thegcr.org.uk/ImageBank.cfm?v=12&Style=All

I think you will find images 6.24 and 6.26 useful.

There is also a book by Cris Ebbs with some line surveys in it:

It looks as thouugh it is now only available as a PDF.

There is also some stuff in "Limestones and Caves of Wales      Edited by: Trevor D. Ford"
The chapter on North Wales is quite extensive with surveys as well.

This can still be bought from some of the caving shops and I think BCRA still has copies.

Just for fairness I will also mention Tony's book.

The Concise Caves of North Wales by Tony Oldham.
I haven't got it myself but it does list over 250 caves with NGR's.
If it is in a similar form to the Concise Caves of Devon then it will contain some useful stuff.
It is, I believe, available from Tony (rhychydwr1 on here) on a CD and quite cheap...  ;)

CCNW and Ford books as must. I think Chris Ebbs also did a publication called along the lines of 'Caves of the Alyn Valley'. I've a copy somewhere, but not near at hand.

Shepton Mallet published a booklet covering the Elwy Valley a bit further west than your area of interest. Also some stuff in Tony Jarrat's online log, but again I think this covers stuff further west.

Cris Ebbs did The Caves of North East Wales a few years back. The date on my copy is June 2000, but I think he was updating it as he went along.

If you still need a copy I'll send him an email and see if he is still producing it.
I think he was selling a version of it as a pdf file for you to print at your own expense.

What were you thinking of doing in the area?
If you need a guide, let us know as I live in that area myself.

Cheers for the help everybody. Have a few e-books now, doing the job well. Chris' website is looking good too.

Batmancaver, I was just looking to expand knowledge really. But also looking for trips beyond the light research. It would be good for someone who knows their way around to guide :)
I think i've sent you a PM, but it may have failed and not told me.
