Has anybody been down these caves in the Maltby Co-Op car park ? I'm trying to find various short easy caves in the Doncaster area to have a practice in and there seems to be more than I thought

I think this is the Yorkshire Subterranean Society's stomping ground. The YSS has a page on this forum - you could ask the question there? Or if you have access to the three excellent journals which the YSS has produced over the years you might find something in there. It's probably in Northern Caves; mine's not immediately to hand but (if all else fails) if you send a PM to remind me I can look this up, if you've no other way of getting at the information.

P. 270 of Northern Caves 1. Apparently gated with permission and key available from South Yorkshire CC Environment Dept.

Herne Hill Caves and various others in the locality are in new Caves of the Peak District, mainly as some of the more southerly caves in the Magnesian Limestone are in East Derbyshire.

Herne Hill Caves are controlled by the DCA. http://www.thedca.org.uk/
