    An informative discussion

Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"

Apologies if I've missed any discussion on this topic.

Whilst looking at "facts" behind postings on a CROW thread I saw that the Yorkshire Dales Access Forum is looking for new members. The forum has to consulted on all access issues and has a "Cave and Crag Access" sub group. The list of members is at http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/lookingafter/caringfor/managingaccess/ydaf/ydlaf-memberdetails .  The press release inviting applicants for 8 posts is at http://www.yorkshiredales.org.uk/pressoffice/press-latestnews/news/recent/access-forum-needs-new-members and begins:

A group that helps to improve public access and recreation in the Yorkshire Dales National Park is on the lookout for new members.

There are currently eight vacancies on the independent Yorkshire Dales Access Forum, which provides guidance and advice on ways to improve and manage public access and opportunities for open-air recreation in this beautiful landscape.

Mohammed Dhalech, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority's Access Development Officer, said: "The forum's job is to work with individuals and organisations who live and work in the 680 square miles of the National Park and those who use or visit the area for leisure and enjoyment, and to advise on ways to improve access and recreation in this special place.
