Hi all,
Despite caving for many years, Mistral/Pip is an area of Easegill I have not visited.
Anyhow I had a lightening fast trip in there on Sunday on a club meet. Due to time constraints I had to head out on my own.
I'd like to think I got to Gour Hall but now I've looked at the survey and read a couple of reports I suspect I didn't quite get that far.

I recognised Hall of the Ten then continued in a large passage to a flat out section that opened up again. A few mins later I reached a large chamber. This contained a muddy floor with a ladder down a narrow slot in the floor(A bottle of baby oil was at the top of the ladder for rescue purposes ;D ) There were several largish formations dotted around the chamber.
So my question is....Was this likely to be Gour Hall?

I'm sure someone else with more knowledge will provide a better answer, in the meantime I'll have a stab. It's been ages since I was last there but it sounds possibly more like Cross Hall or thereabouts (maybe just prior to Cross, no idea if it has a name) than Gour Hall which, IIRC, slopes down noticeably.

Had to look up the name and I think I'd agree with Cross Hall. Anyway, I'm sure it was not Gour Hall, which is not much further from the chamber with the ladder going down. Ascend a slope on the opposite side, then a bit more flat out crawling and I think the first turn left and the second turn right would have opened up into Gour Hall proper, which has plenty of formations on the left and a muddy flowstone bank on the right. There is usually also a small pot collecting drip water for cleaning the stal...
