Yesterday we received our new rigging drill

It's a Bosch GBH 18V -EC 18 V with 2x6ah batteries. (1,7j impact force)

We've tested the drill capacity of the battery and we drilled 60 holes of 5cm in 8mm. We stopped because the battery ran a bit warm :)

This machine is half in weight of a our Hilti's or other Bosch. This machine will be used for rigging in pits not for drilling capping holes. So hopefully we discover a lot of pits this summer on the PSM.

Here's hoping you get the chance to wear it out!

Let us all know how it performs medium- and long-term.

I will do that when the expeditions are over (end september).

As the august expedition is over I heard the comments of the fellow riggers that the new drill is marvelous. You can drill up to 60 holes for anchors (8mm expantion bolts) with one battery. The weight is so mucht ligther then the Hilti TE6A that you don't even think of leaving the drill in the base camp and take a spit hamer instead.

I will do some tests next week (hopefully) when I'm on 10-days expedition :)
