Found this little orange chum today;

wl

It's in Orange Tree Chamber just before  What's it called pitch.  Oh no, haven't even named the pitch yet.  Not even been down it yet - no gear - no bolts.  The rush is on to explore and report in time for Eurospeleo.  Check out the Dales Round Up.
I've already said too much  ;D

Monumental Pitch - first descent today...

Unfortunately it's such a perilous undertaking that location cannot be revealed at this time.  ;)

Incredible pitch, but not sure about that bottom right hand side---- :o

Well done to all concerned   :beer2: :beer2:

Click on 'underground' to view the cutting edge of exploration in the Dales

Amazing! Great to see the front line as it happens, so soon after it happening!

Congratulations, and best of luck with the future discoveries.

thumbs up  :clap2:

I known the feeling :-) Descending a new pitch is always a thrill. And the volume seems to be large too at the bottom.

A bit more new stuff yesterday:

One of the ways on is open but underneath the boulders in the bottom left of this photo.

Bit of capping.

wl

This video shows the small rock being capped and the big one next to it going too...  and I thought that one was well jammed in!

! No longer available

Finally its open and the rope is rigged - pose for group shot

...and the descent...

wl

At the bottom... another short pitch...  some passages... and a constricted pitch head into the unknown for next time...

Awesome, thanks for sharing so soon. An exciting project, i look forward to hearing more at EuroSpeleo....

Did you get your capping rod back!?!

Yes, I was lowered down by the ankles to get it back.  Had to as there was more capping to do!  You can already see the pile on the ledge in the final shot.

F had us all in media mode.. photos, filming etc to pad out his talk at ES  ;)

Ay up, Tim, "Looks perilous!"
Aye, an EXcellent cave Franklin.

Credit to Franklin here for all the photos.  Don't miss his talk at Euro Speleo. If you can't make it there we'll write it up for sure, may even publish with full details on here  :)
