World Food Crisis

There seems to be a World Food Supply Crisis
Most Asian countries have now banned the exportation of grain.
Poor Africans will soon be plunged into extreme food poverty.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7336974.stm

Is this because there are too many people in the world
for present food production which is on a knife edge.
Millions of fowl have been executed to try and halt bird flu.
Cattle are suffering from T.B.
The cost of food is going to rocket for all
but if you are poor, a far greater proportion of your money goes on food.
In many places in the world there are presently food riots,
as governments have come to realize, they can't hold food prices down for ever with world food prices soaring.

We dont have a Food Crisis we have a problem with the lame, sick, poor, lazy, stupid BREEDING all the bloody time while the intelligent, hard working, productive, healthy ones (the one with all the good genes) dont have time or prefer not to breed like rabbits because like me they think the world is vastly over populated and needs a major cull of humans (the virus with shoes) before any wildlife needs to be culled.

Darkplaces for President  :beer2:

By feast or famine......  ;D

I was outside Sainsury the other day in Matlock, filling my tank up with bottles of corn oil (and helpfully putting the empties in a nearby trolley  ;)). I was thinking "this would be food for someone".... but then again I dont tax fuel to make it 114p a litre so what can you do.....

Guess we'll bring all that set-aside land back into production soon.....

There appears to be something rather strange happening - wheat price trebling (within 18 months), my milk price is up by 75%, also beef is on the up.

Are you all richer? - or are supplies shortening?

Poorest first.
Haiti is probably the poorest country in The Americas
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7339755.stm

Haiti's President Rene Preval has ordered people to stop rioting over soaring food and fuel prices.

"To those who are stirring up violence, I order you to stop because it is not going to solve the problem," Mr Preval said on national TV and radio.

Five people have died in a week of rioting in Haiti, a rice importer and one of the world's poorest countries

Over the last week on T.V. and on the wireless (radio)
several people have been quietly saying that the real problem is human population growth
we are in effect outstripping our world.
Here is one glimpse of the problem
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/7398238.stm
A grandson of the last ruler of the Indian princely state of Hyderabad has joined the claims for a share of a fortune frozen in a London bank.

wait for it

"When India and Pakistan discuss ways to disburse ?30m they should remember that in all there are 96 descendants."

So one man from The Indian Subcontinent has 96 descendants

No wonder we are running out of world resources.

He's only jealous 'cos the women haven't allowed him the opportunity to have so many descendants himself. ;)

Do you count "they" in the "we", or just "us" as opposed to "them"?

We,
meaning everyone currently alive.

THE problem must be getting close to crunch time
if people are now being allowed to discuss it,
maybe even politicians will think it is time :-\

"Now" being allowed .... ?

At what point was this permission given?
Who gave it?

How was the previous prohibition on discussion enforced?
By whom?
