Carlswark Resurgence - lots of rubbish....!

Further to my post in Trip reports, I must say that the Carlswark resurgence area was not a nice experience with the amount of crud everywhere.... Now I'm not blaming anyone but the where far too many plastic bottle and left over plastic in are immediate vicinity - not to mention an amount of broken glass in the entrance to the Resurgence.....  :yucky:

The inside of the resurgance itself is fairly clean. There some ol digging tubs and scaffold bars slowly decaying. Doubt anyone still digs down there though.
I think the main problem is on the outside. Like you say, loads of pop bottles, glass and stuff like that. I've noticed a bit of an increase in groups using the cliff for abseiling as well as the odd bunch of chavs here and there.
It would be great to get that area cleaned up.

Agreed. A little bit of old tad inside, but I was surprised at the amount of grot outside...unfortunately I am booked up every weekend between now and 20th June.

However, a Thursday evening in June would be good.... :-\

As one of very few instructors that take groups down that way I would be happy to help out. The staff at Edale YHA have on occasion litter picked the cave so it may be possible to drag in some more help.
