Hi all,
Firstly are there any MBA Members in this forum? MBA meaning Mountain Bothy Association, its just i was wondering if there were any caves near bothy's? now that would be a match made in heaven!.

- Im guessing you mean bothys in scotchland. In which case - it depends if there are any bothys in the Assynt area cause thats where the caves are..

Hi there Sam,
Yes the majority of bothy's are up in Scotland how ever theres loads more! they also stretch to the North of England and North and South Wales, I'm getting a little time of between Aug 3rd-8Th my plan is to do a few mountains in North Wales then go caving down Brecon way. All the best.  John

bothys dont have locks on them you dont have to pay to use them and they are usualy a lot more basic then your average caving hut i know of quite a good bothy in the black mountains ill post the grid ref when i can dig out the map.

couldn't have put it better my self, mind you i have grids at hand if there needed?, fare one a lot are not up to much but there are a few gems out there.

Not sure about bothies (which I think tend to be in Scotland), but caving club huts provide basic acommodation very cheaply. While they're all run by clubs, most are open to non-club members and others involved in outdoor activities.
