Illusions / Dale Barn survey?

Anyone know where I might get a survey for Illusion / Dale Barn?

The CDG sump index says Caves & Caving 47 1990 - anyone got a copy of this?

cheers,
Chris

Alternatively - NCC journal No.4 also appears to have a survey if anyone has that - although that is 10years older than the other one.

Just a thought Langcliffe - your posting above was obviously intended to help - but - the publications referred to are very commonly available and perhaps it'd be better if requests to the librarian of BCA were kept to slightly more obscure stuff (cos there's only so many hours in a day!).

What I'm really trying to say is that perhaps we should all just put in that little bit of effort and make better use of all the other excellent caving libraries up and down the country as the first resort (and only ask for help from BCL if it becomes necessary). Otherwise the BCL might easily become overloaded with requests for stuff which could easily be accessed elsewhere. This approach would also encourage people to become more familiar with these caving club libraries, each of which is a wonderful resource. They deserve to be used (and, as a result, better appreciated).

As I said - just a thought . . . .

Are all these other excellent caving libraries open to non club members? Obviously you wouldn't want non-members borrowing material, but are the volunteers running the  libraries happy to receive requests for photocopies?

The UBSS Library can be visited by appointment, although it is currently "off limits" due to building work, & we have scanned to pdf or photocopied plenty of stuff in the past for non-members. I have also scanned stuff from my own library but there is only so much time in the day.

I know of one prominent club that hides its substantial library so that it's generally inaccessible, and only allows keys out to a select few committee members. Reading material is for hoarding, not consulting.

Access to the Wessex library is generally available to non members on request, but publications must not be removed, however we have scanning and printing facilities. A polite request to our librarian might also result in his assistance so you may not need to attend in person.

I'm not sure if we have a survey of Illusion/Dale Barn though.

I'm sure we do, perhaps I should have read all of the list of publications it was in.  :-[
