Recently there was long thread about the BCA. I can now post possible answers to some of the questions, such as "Why is the BCA still raising membership prices when there is a significant amount still left in its coffers?"
Wit Tamdoun is an excellent cave in a stunning location. The only thing to keep in mind is that the first several hundred meters require swimming along a deep out of depth canal. The BHB Volume 68–69: Africa Atlas, 3rd Edition has some good information + a survey...
Does anyone have an idea of how many (the total number of) caves have been surveyed/mapped or simply sketched in the UK to date. Bit of an odd question I guess but an Iranian Caving Colleague has asked me how many.

Will be in Mendip Area next week and was wondering what the bolt and loose rock situation was in Rhino Rift. I understand the direct route has P bolts fitted but there were unstable boulders at had of third pitch.
Spent this week just gone doing some work in Coldstone Quarry that belongs to Howdens. In the quarry there are several cavelets and cave entrances. Talking to Shirley (Quarry Manager) and Bob Orange (Site Manager) they informed me that the caves are known and are generally short in length...
Went for a walk in the Wormhill Area last Sunday and came across a couple of small caves in Flag Dale just above where the footpath crosses the dale. Neither are in COPD and both look like they have been dug at some time. Does anyone know anything about these? All the best :)
