I was wondering if anyone knew the names of two adits either side of the footpath that leads off Griff Grange Valley towards Griff Grange Farm, from the second lay-by on the left up from Rider Point? The right hand adit has the remains of a coe and goes in a fair distance with metal rails in place and plenty of bat poo, whilst the adit on the right doesn't go too far due to collapses and passes a fantastic Shelob's lair.

I think you're describing Mark Dale, in which case there should be some info in one of the PDMHS newsletters.  I don't remember if the mines were named as such,  I'll have a browse...

Jon, Martin Lampwick is right its called Marks Dale but Ive never come across a name for the adits. I know bats use the one on the left going up dale and indeed John Jones from WMRG makes a note of their numbers ever year. Ive not had a look for a couple of years now.  The one on the right is a bit dodge with several collapses so only been in about 20 yards.
