I don't recognise the cave either, but it was an excellent programme. If you have HD it's on the BBC HD channel at 11.50pm tonight, otherwise use the iPlayer. Roger Deakin's book, Waterlog, on which the programme was based, is also highly recommended.

It was Birkwith Cave.

Looks like Birkwith. Turning right at the junction after the entrance series into the canal...

Once heard there used to be a small boat moored up there..

Once heard there used to be a small boat moored up there..

There was a boat moored there which was replaced by a highly-suspect raft which was in turn replaced by an inflatable tyre with a slow puncture, all long gone.
