I'd be grateful if someone could help point me in the direction of the new cave in blackwell dale

If you mean Aragog Cave (as per Descent #278) it's high on the Western slope, slightly downdale of the climbers overhangs which are right by the road. It is just about visible from the road, on a small ledge.
