Awesome video and awesome lighting - what "light" were you usig Tim?  You got some well lit distance shots which is exceptionally difficult in slate chambers

I shot this video with a second hand Canon G9 and housing in a little cave in France, called the Event de Rodel, this September.
The cave is in the Herault, is very shallow (maximum 15m) and lovely and clear. We had a lot of fun running all over it with cameras and getting some nice shots. Unfortunately Andras (the diver mostly in the shots) had his torch on a low power setting which caused pink strobing on my camera screen. It was too complicated to fix this underwater so I just edited around it and this is what we got.

For those of you who get grainy, noisy video footage, it is worth buying yourself a download of Cyberlink Powerdirector 11 (I have version 9 which is ok for most stuff I do) and also comes with a sound editing programme. It was about ?30 and worth every penny. You can deal with noise (essential for dark footage) colour correct, sharpness - pretty much all the editing tools you would want for a photo editor. It's quite sophisticated for the price and always surprises me with what it can do.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the vid  :)

I'm not entirely sure why I hadn't posted this here before..thought I had..anyway...
This is a sort of 'round up' of our best bits of 2012. It has a bit of everything, plenty of caves (though not all) and it was a good excuse to learn a bit more about editing. The first rule is don't EVER re-render anything (note the France clips) and always work from raw footage in the programme. It was an experiment in being lazy, but mattered much less in this fun video. Warning - it isn't short....

Does anyone know where the video embed BB code option has gone? Tried to embed this but various usual options failed.

I think the software is supposed to automatically embed youtube video but quite often it doesn't work for various reasons. Normally because of "Embedding disabled, limit reached"

Hi All

This is the trailer for my second UK cave diving film, showcasing some of the nicest dives and best pretties beyond sumps in the UK.
You will be able to get your hands on a copy at Hidden Earth or by post.
There are a limited number of copies being made - when they're gone, they're gone - so if you would like to pre-order yours, go to the link at the end of the trailer.
