You only have yourself to blame, so far as I am concerned. I made what I considered to be a constructive comment (i.e that some of the more prolific contributors should exercise a bit of self-restraint) and you responded to it with high-handed contempt. We clearly don't agree on what we want to get out of this forum, which is fair enough, but I don't accept that your response was a reasonable reply to me unambiguously expressing an honestly held point of view.

Dep at least had the decency to give a considered response - you just sent back the first thing that came into your head, which is typical of what I think is wrong with the recent upsurge in drivel this forum has suffered.

With regard to my earlier use of the f-word, I don't like using emoticons at the best of times, and in any case I couldn't find one which would properly express the depth of my contempt for the response my posting got from Downer. I also don't believe in munging 'rude' words by adding stars or using mis-spellings - if the word is appropriate then use it, if it isn't then find another one. In this case, the phrase (which is hardly original, after all) was, I felt, appropriate.

Suggesting people should impose a limit on their output is hardly constructive. That's why I complained. The most positive approach is to address the quality of the posts, not the quantity.
