RIP Shane MacGowan. A great songwriter and troubled genius. Such a brilliant acidic, bitter, song with underlying romance and love. The more raw it's sung the better.

Actually I must admit that one of my favourite songs is 'The Band Played Waltzing Matilda'. Not the most cheerful song ever, but rather poignant.
