I've had this failure on at least one of my krabs, must check the serial numbers when I get home...

DMM plastic pushers seem to have been somewhat 'sensitive' for some time (many years), and quite a few cavers have had issues, possibly related to dirt, which don't seem to happen anywhere near as often (if at all) with crabs (DMM or otherwise) which use metal pushers.
If you have a failed crab that might just be due to that general sensitivity, rather than the specifics behind the recall.

This recall seems to be about a specific subset of crabs where, presumably, even less (maybe no?) provocation is needed to cause pusher failure.
