Don't mention the access...

I'm sure half the threads on here revert to the access debate and CROW. I thought it would interesting to do a "don't mention the war" thread - the rules are debate anything but lose ten points if you mention access, gates, permits or CROW.

Let's start with war then - is it a good thing or bad?

I believe you've already lost.... :read:

That said...war's a bit a necessary evil. They'll always be people wantiang to do things that affect others badly and the only way to work around it is to force their hand.

Perhaps the challenge should be to skate as close as you can to the naughty subject without mentioning it. You could, for example, debate the balance required on club committees (or other bodies?) between supporting rights of those you represent on one hand, and promoting the responsibilities of those same people to others on the other hand. Too much one way and you run the risk of losing the respect of those from whom you are demanding rights, and too much the other way and you run the risk of losing the suuport of those you are supposed to represent. Maybe by nor mentioning the naughty subjects in such a debate, it can be done without turning into a bun fight.

Permit me to recall that I once passed a crow sitting on a gate.  I asked him "what do you think of Mirosoft Access".  He said "crarrrp" and flew off.

I win !!!!

PS.  What is war good for ?  Absolutely nuthin'
