Basically, in a few years' time we'll all be able to do our caving from our comfortable armchairs while little solar-powered amphibious robots wander through sumps too deep to dive and squeezes too tight to crawl through, while relaying full-colour real-time video back to our laptops.

In the i newspaper today there is an account of a drone beetle. You can make it turn left and right and land by stimulating certain muscles. I wonder if you can do the same with bats.
