Is there a ban on Northeners getting a trip in DYO? We've been trying for 10 years and have only ever managed to get a leader for 2 trips which unfortunately were rained off on the day. Noby seems to want to lead trips in there....

I guess that's the problem with the leader system in any cave sooner than later everyone get's sick of going in there, leading trips, which is understandable if they are not being paid or anything.

Hi Pete, you have been asking the wrong person(s), by the sound of it. I have been the Wardens' Sec for the DYO CAC for the last few years and don't recall a request from you! PM me (or DudleyBug) your details and between us we will ask those who hold Warden permits for someone to step up.

Please give some alternative dates if possible, and you stand a MUCH better chance during the summer months, because in winter you have to be very lucky for your chosen weekend to coincide with suitable weather. DYO is extremely weather-dependent.

As with most other caves where you need a Warden or leader, there are a few who do more than their share and and rather more who rarely if ever offer to lead trips. If you are a DYO Warden please read the plaintive tone of Pete's post and ask when you last led a trip...
