Easy Access Mendip Caves

Can anyone tell me which caves can I easily access in the Mendip area without having to pre-book anything; just turn up on the day and do it.

(by easy access I mean no need to book, I don't mind if I have to walk a few Kms to get to the cave)

Longwood, as with all caves administered by CCC Ltd, requires a key, but does not require pre-booking, provided someone is at one of the relevant caving huts to issue one. The exception is Charterhouse Cave which requires a leader, few clubs keep a spare one of those hanging up in a cupboard.

Whereas you might not need to book, some of those examples require paying a goodwill fee at the farm beforehand.

Hunters Lodge Inn Sink, is at the moment closed, as there are birds nesting in the enterance, and Roger & Jackie don't want them disturbed whilst the eggs are being sat, though as soon as the chicks have flown it'll be open again. Just check in the pub for the current access status.

Thanks everyone.

I don't mind paying goodwill fees or getting permits on the day, I just can't pre-book anything as I am never sure which days I can make it.
