Giggleswick Quarry

The Westmorland Gazette reports that Giggleswick Quarry is to be developed as an industrial facility (whatever that means). The quarry would be an ideal sheltered venue for mountain biking (along the quarry terraces), rock climbing and zip wires (if you can stand 'em). It also contains at least two caves. I don't know how other forum users feel about the commercial development of our sports but this spectacular quarry could provide a unique venue for the Dales if the owners have the foresight to do something more imaginative than opening industrial units.

I agree with your sentiment but of the examples you mentioned the quarry didn't seem that suitable for mountain biking and it would take a lot of work to clean up the cliffs for climbing.
