Linux Help - Survex on Android

Before anyone gets their hopes up at the title, I've hit a brick wall.

I have installed GNURoot Debian with LXDE, then sending that to XServer XDSL for the graphical interface.
Combined with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard, this is great - ARM Linux on the go! (Yeah I'm not sure what for either...)

BUT, this does mean you can install Linux apps, such as Survex.

It's installed, but Aven won't run.

I think it's due to an issue with OpenGL and networky Xwindowsy stuff, but I'm out of my depth here...

Anyone knowledgeable enough to help? I can copy the error messages across and the troubleshooting I've done if something thinks they're in with a shot.
