Just for info there is a massive sheep carcass on the bottom of the first pitch of the gulley route and it's honking
Doesn't look like been there long not sure what if anything can be done?

For a less distructive idea to the last, divers* and bin  bags.

*they bring their own air supply so avoid having to breathe the sheep-contaminated air.

A one ton capacity bag (eg empty sand bag from builder's merchants), and a rope to hoik it out of the shaft.

Hi,

We have a club trip planned to Marble Steps this weekend. I had contemplated tackling a sheep removal but I think it might be better to just let nature take its course.

Having somehow never actually been to Marble Steps before, could someone confirm if using the Sidewinder route should sufficiently avoid the offending carcass? Or would it be wiser to go to a different cave instead?

Cheers,
Cat

Just wade through it, what can go wrong...

Hi Cat

From the sounds of it, yes using sidewinder would avoid the sheep as it drops you in at the bottom of the 2nd pitch. It's a better route anyway!

Sidewinder is great Cat, sadly when I Was there last somebody had left a fixed rope on the climb up on the other side of the main shaft, which spoils the fun.
