Met my mate Dave in Inglesport cafe just before 9am and by 10am we were changed and ready to climb down the entrance. We were soon through the entrance series and into the Hobbit and off towards Dusty Junction.Showed Dave the way to Link Pot and Red Wall chamber and we continued through the crawl to Hall of the Ten, past the drop down into Ratbag inlet. Climbed up the other side Hall of the Ten and past the way on to Gour Hall, which we decided to leave for another day. Then, into the Hall of the Mountain King, with all its glutenous vastness, and pornographic mud sculpture! At the bottom dropped through the muddy hole into Leck Fell Lane and went past the Mistral waterfall as far as where the Misty Mountain Series goes off. On the way back marvelled at the formations in Leck Fell Lane and back up to Hall of the Mountain King, where we had a look at the Wellington Traverse - which we did not compete as we decided it would have benefitted from a bit of protection, right at the end. After this we headed for Ratbag Inlet (the climb down through the boulders does seem a bit dodgy by the way) and went up as far as where Pip comes in.Then headed out after a good trip.
Washed all the mud off our gear at Bull Pot Farm, courtesy of RRCPC who have kindly provided some brushes for this purpose. It was very quiet on the fell today, with just one other party down Cow Pot, and another in Aygill. Also the RRCPC diggers were out.
I was home by three and in the shower half an hour later. Not a bad day I would say.Conference next weekend and then another trip the weekend after!
