New p-hanger in Giant's as of December

I did the Giant's round trip in mid-December, and there was a p-hanger in there that has recently been added. It was on the climb down from the top of the Crabwalk on the way back to Garland's and it was labelled as having just been installed.

We were curious as to why it's been put in? There only appeared to be one and it's in the middle of the climb; presumably it's for rescue in some way?

The is a traverse all the way along the top of the Crabwalk can be rigged from natural anchors and Spit sleeves. One of the sleeves had worn out and left a section on the traverse rather exposed. DCA opted to install a BP anchor here instead of wait for any old person to put another Spit in.
