On't scrounge for a skateboard

Does anyone have an old skateboard kicking around the garage which is no longer needed?
If so could I scrounge it?

No, I'm not reliving my teenage years; it's for a cave diving project (I kid you not).
Could be a revolutionary new technique!

It would be a bonus if anyone who is heading to the Dales this weekend has one going spare
Please could you PM me if you can help?

Thanks.

Does it have to be a skateboard? Got a wood dolly you could have, similar to this

Thanks - but those look like rotating casters; really I'm wanting fixed wheels.
That may do but what I have in mind is somewhat experimental and there's no certainty it'll work. Hence wanting to see if anyone can let me have an old skateboard to play with.

Can't help with the skateboard, but if your experiment works we've had great service from these people. We build lots of different kinds of custom trucks for getting materials & glass in and waste out of delicate buildings. They have all sorts of different castor materials and load rating etc. Fixed sides and rotating. The simple ones are cheap, like £1-3 each.

That looks like a very useful resource; thanks Steve. If no-one can help it may be worth pursuing.

I'm intrigued! You'll have to update us later on how it goes.

If you'd asked last week, I have some fixed casters on the shelf that I could have brought to the dinner last weekend, but I can't imagine I'd have much chance of getting them to you before the weekend now! If you have no luck with getting a skateboard, let me know and I can dig out the casters.

Lurking in my garden there is, what I believe is referred to as, a penny board. Smaller in all dimensions than a skateboard, plastic board. If you think it might be helpful let me know, there is a reasonable (not definite) chance I'll be in the Dales on Sunday morning.

John @Pitlamp if Dunc doesn’t sort you out I’ll be able to get something together via my lad. Let me know and in the meantime I’ll see what he has.

Oh wow - what a great response; thanks all!

Looks like Ed has got me sorted out though.

Pete, I'll spill the beans if it works!

Ha ha - not too far from the truth with that picture! (y)

But I'll keep you all guessing for the time being.

Thanks to Ed on here, I now have a fine skateboard. (y) :)

Thanks also to the Bradford member who kindly delivered it today (I think his initals are JD).

If the vis stays OK I plan to test it during next week.
