Eastwater Cavern, Upper Traverse, but getting it wrong on the way back and going into the higher one just before it. Head first, downhill, on your back.

One place I failed to get through was the squeeze at the top of the Primrose Path, East Water. Knowing that the pitches started on the other side of the squeeze, I tied initially to get through with my SRT kit on but quickly realised that this was not going to work. In the end tried to get through with no SRT kit on, just with a rope as a handline. Reached a point where it pinched in even more, maybe this is the crux but at that point as I was pretty well jammed in. I then decided to give up on it as I was not prepared to take the risk of getting really jammed.
If indeed I had reached the tightest point and maybe with a bit of local knowledge and encouragement from somebody, I'd like to think that I might have got through but I don't suppose I'll be going back to find out.
The weekend was not a total waste of time as we did the Priddy Green through trip very soon after its discovery on the Sunday.

Hungerhill Swallet, in the Peak District has a few choice squeezes.

The first one that did me was the squeeze from the mine level entrance to the top of Deep Space.

My first time through was in a 3mm wetsuit, I found the squeeze snug to say the least. On a second trip through I was wearing a 5mm wetsuit and when I got in the squeeze, I became tightly wedged with feet dangling some way above the floor.

Thinking I couldn't possibly have got that fat in a couple of weeks, I exhaled and forced my way through, feeling the ribs crack just I dropped through the narrow bit.

The only way to get back without a lot of pain, was to remove my wetsuit and inch back through, (this squeeze was enlarged sometime afterwards). Not by me I might add

Ah, the secret to squeeze success, be prepared to break some ribs!

Have broken the same rib cartilage three times in the last three years... not worth it, though I may be a sissy. Haven't hurt them in a squeeze yet though, as I'm a chestless lad and the head and pelvis are what keep me out of places. Can't seem to compress my head much at all.

I often wonder (especially when I am in a squeeze) if there is an operation you could have to have hinges fitted in ribs...

Pip's easy, its reputation is not deserved, but that Primrose sounds interesting not to mention dangerous.

Hmmm, that's a matter of opinion
I used to fit but I reckon it must have got narrower in recent years  :doubt:

I managed Pippikin when I was younger but needed help getting out. Regarding Eastwater the Hallelujah hole is quite tight and I had a struggle getting up through it about 10 years ago. Then I read my logbook written at age 16 where I noted it 'was a bit tight'! The Dunstan's squeeze  was no problem and we even got my father through when he dived the sump the first time. He was in his late 40's then.
