Bowled out at 103', a great innings.
She only lived about a mile from me. I think it's going to get crowded round here soon.

It's hard to realise her importance to the fighting troops and to the civilians suffering the bombing and rocket attacks.  Let's not forget she made dangerous (in those days) journeys to theatres of war like Burma/Myanmar, India & Egypt to play live to forces on active service.

I've been in them tunnels in the white cliffs when you look out towards France from a viewing platform it brings the reality of how close we were to being invaded.
Dame Vera boosted moral within our troops, she did a fine job.
Be at peace young lady 🙂

A lot of people attending restaurants in London during the war complained about Whale Meat again though.
