While rigging EDS for a Flowerpot through-trip today, I found a ~4m section of electron ladder strewn a few metres from the top of the shaft. The ladder isn't long enough to get down the shaft, but the cuts on the cable look quite clean (I.E. it doesn't look like it's frayed and snapped, then been abandoned). The ladder wasn't there when I last visited the shaft, less than two weeks ago, and there were no other cars in the area at the time.
Because it didn't look obviously rusted, broken, and abandoned I didn't clear it away, but I have coiled it and left it to the left of the entrance - about head height and still clearly visible. If it's yours feel free to collect it, if it's still there in a couple of month's time I might decide to clear it away as clutter. It's unlabelled, without a spreader/strops, and too short to be used in the location it's been left, so if I find it's not been used in the meantime I think it's safe to say it's clearly abandoned and should be removed - I just didn't want to take it today in case there's a genuine reason it's been left there.
