Hi
I am planning a trip to Brecon area on the weekend of 11+12 Dec.
I am going to take the A470 from Cardiff all the way up.
It's a double carriageway up to Merthyr Tydfil and then narrows to one lane.
Does anyone know of the state of this road from Merthyr Tydfil to the Brecons, snow wise?
Lots of black ice, lost of snow, both or none?
Help is much appreciated appreciated.
Thanks
Nat

A470 from Merthyr to Brecon was fine yesterday.

At http://www.traffic-wales.com  there are web-cams [ "under Live Eye View" followed by clicking on the map]
including one for  the Storey Arms which is the high point on this road.

Forecast is for warmer weather for the weekend....

I've spent much of the last three days driving between Ruardean and Cwmfelinfach (on the A4048 N. of Newport) by a number of different routes (bloody Peugeot sat nav). No problem on any of these routes. Some very spectacular icicles in the Clydach Gorge, too!
Nick.
