The Scottish Question..

I got my voting form through my door from the GSG but as a Scottish caver, I've just chucked the form away as I don't feel that I should have a say on English or Welsh matters even if I did frequent them.  I'm sure I'm not the only one in this camp although those that frequent the Dales from Edinburgh may disagree seeing as it will actually affect them.  Each to their own.

I opened this thread up anticipating that 'The West Lothian Question' beloved of Tam Dayell and other politicians had reared its head - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Lothian_question
I see it hasn't, for which we should be grateful (but Scottish cavers may decide that they shouldn't vote on issues that apply only south of the border). I suggest that the easiest solution for clubs pondering how they are going to poll their members on how to cast their club vote is to abstain and save all the hassle.

I was making a cheeky nod towards the west lothian question - well spotted.

My answer, like Bob's is that many scottish cavers cave all over the UK (and vice versa) so they certainly have a right to an opinion and a vote.  (y)
On that premise should you extend the vote to all those countries with which we have freedom of movement?

It's not entirely unreasonable ;)

Depends on where you cave; I'm a Scottish caver who, so far, caves 100% in Yorkshire.  So I voted.
