On Saturday I visited Cambrian Slate Mine at Glyn Ceiriog. I was pleased to see that a lot of the stupid spay paint I cleaned off last time had not reappeared. I have yet to clean up the drainage adit, especially the daftness at the dam.
I wanted an easy day as it was a big one today, I took black Belt in Shotokan karate with Karate Union of Great Britain, and passed. One of about 6 out of about 24, and 77 in January. But that's not why you called.

I would strongly recommend anyone visiting the area take a look at the tramway museum in the high street. Its very 'moochy', my kind of museum. There's a Rushton loco in there
Its free entry, run by a trust of volunteers, nice people to talk to.

An unexpected spin off from this conversation has been the rediscovery of a photo I took in the early 60s of a Glyn Valley Tramway coach mouldering away in a field at Preeshenlle, Gobowen, where it had been since 1933. A provisional copy has been provided to the museum.
