Trip suggestion

Following a hastily arranged weekend I'm likely to be in or around Brecon on Sunday, nursing a hangover (meeting up with old friends) and looking for some suitable Sunday trip to bring me back to life before the journey back north.

Obviously nothing too long (journey time back home to consider) or too strenuous (largely dependent on state of hangover) or too locked!

Setting aside the big trips I've not really managed to do that much in S.Wales - other than Cynnes and Fechan.

Any suggestions (sensible or otherwise) gratefully received.

And yes, as soon as I can I'll buy a guidebook.  ::)

Cheers
Steve

Nant Rhin in the Clydach is a good trip and even better if you have srt and dont mind a few crawls/tight bits...

I always found Little Neath River Cave a good hangover cure if you follow the water all the way

Have you been down Ogof Cnwc (Price's Dig)? Good Sunday trip, impressive passage, not too hard, can make it as short or as long as you want. Worth doing as a recce so that you can be sure of finding your way out if you ever do the through trip from Daren! Yes, it's locked but you should be able to pick up a key from Whitewalls easily enough. (Alternatively, just let me know and I can put you in touch with Stuart France and you can get a key directly from him.)

Agen Allwedd is great if you've not done it before, won't do you in either and not too taxing from a wayfinding point of view. A few keys at Whitewalls and only a 30 min surface walk to the entrance along the stunning escarpment. Can suggest some reasonable targets for trip lengths and some instructions if you liked.

Very funny - I feel your pain Greg (almost literally since I took a tumble of my mountain bike yesterday!)

Last time I was there Ogof Cnwc was still a dig - so a recce would be great.

And thanks for the suggestions and offers of extra help - much appreciated.

No offence intended, Greg. As I mentioned on your trip report thread, you did well to get out under your own steam prior to callout time. At least two other parties (to my knowledge) have not been so resourceful!

Steve,
If you definitely want to go to Cnwc on Sunday I would strongly suggest you contact Stuart in advance to be certain of getting hold of a key. Failing that, it would be worth checking with John Stevens to make sure that someone will be at Whitewalls as it would be a shame to get all the way over there and find nobody around.
